Days Later, And I Still Can’t Forget…

This song, I mean. ;p

I’ve heard it about almost a hundred times already, but I still can’t get over how beautiful the lyrics are.

The moment I read the lyrics, I knew this was the song for me. I feel this.. sense of calm whenever I hear this song. I know I’m probably supposed to reminisce and feel upset because of what happened not too long ago, but the thing is, I don’t.

Whenever I listen to it now, it reminds me that ‘the one’ will come. The one who thinks like Alan Jackson, the singer of this song. The one who will accept me, flaws and all, and still love me for who I am, and encourage me to be the best I can be, not be the best of the best. Because, like Mr Lionel had once said (something which I will remember forever), “If you keep comparing yourself with people better than you, you’re not gonna go anywhere.

And until I find someone like that; who is willing to actually go through thick and thin and not give up so easily when a hardship is thrown our way; ONLY THEN, will I consider a serious relationship. No more heartbreaks for me. Enough is enough, especially when the person I had learnt to trust so much just up and left like that. No, no more.

Anyways, have a look at the lyrics. It makes me feel so.. at ease, so peaceful..

Remember when I was young and so were you
and time stood still and love was all we knew
You were the first, so was I
We made love and then you cried
Remember when

Remember when we vowed the vows
and walked the walk
Gave our hearts, made the start, it was hard
We lived and learned, life threw curves
There was joy, there was hurt
Remember when

Remember when old ones died and new were born
And life was changed, disassembled, rearranged
We came together, fell apart
And broke each other’s hearts
Remember when

Remember when the sound of little feet
was the music
We danced to week to week
Brought back the love, we found trust
Vowed we’d never give it up
Remember when

Remember when thirty seemed so old
Now lookn’ back it’s just a steppin’ stone
To where we are,
Where we’ve been
Said we’d do it all again
Remember when
Remember when we said when we turned gray
When the children grow up and move away
We won’t be sad, we’ll be glad
For all the life we’ve had
And we’ll remember when
