My mum and I were talking today (one of those rare heart-to-heart-ish kinda talks we do whenever my brother is not around/sleeping/too preoccupied to disturb us), and we came to the topic of animals.
We were talking about the connection between majestic animals such as horses and dolphins and humans. My mum began sharing her stories from back when my sister used to be involved in horse riding and the Equestrian sport, and I shared my experiences from following my sister to competitions. Lol.
P/S: That is NOT my pic or my sister. Lol.
In the end, I came to the conclusion that regardless what animal, that ‘connection’ between animal and human is there. I strongly believe that if you love animals, they (the animals) can tell, likewise if you’re not.
Personally, I’m a huge animal lover. So is my entire family, except maybe my dad, and a certain favouritism on a certain someone’s part. Some of you haters out there may wonder why on earth we animal lovers even bother spending on an animal; why some people dote on their pets like nothing. So I’m here to tell you why.
Everyday, without fail, my dog greets me whenever she sees me. And everytime she does, she looks so darned happy, even if she just saw me a few minutes before. Even towards my dad, who has never so much as petted her before, Giselle never fails to greet him whenever he comes back from work. They will stay loyal to you, protect you, and even die for you. Now tell me, are humans even that pure, that honest and loving?
Yes, of course there are. But how many percent of the world population actually posses said qualities? Don’t get me wrong; I’m not suggesting that we all go take lessons from our pets and start behaving like them. I’m saying that animals were made that way; they can’t help what they do and unlike humans, they don’t have the ability to reason, but they’re still pretty smart. Humans, on the other hand, can think for themselves and have the ability to weigh the pros and cons of something. Yet sometimes we still pick the simplest option, not what we should. What’s our excuse then?
And the best thing about pets?
Their love never falters; never fades. They love unconditionally, regardless of how you look like and what kind of a person you are. Their love is simple: if you love them, they’ll love you back.
Do you still hate animals after this?
The only people who still can, I think, are either in denial, blind, or plain egoistic that animals can have better values than they ever will. =p
P.P.S: Just the statement alone in the picture below really made me feel like crying. ='(
