Ok, listen. Recently there’s been a lot of hype over the website mentioned above. Quite honestly, just by the url alone one is able to guess what it could possibly be about.
Thankfully, I can tell you that the girls there are not completely bare, nor do they expose private areas. So what’s with all the brouhaha, you ask?
In case curiosity has already gotten the best of you, you can check out this link. There is no nudity, I can assure you.
So apparently this creepy guy has stolen pictures of girls on Facebook and put them on this blog of his. Well that in itself is already an invasion of privacy, and a felony. I admit I checked the blog myself, and went through about 3 pages to see if I could spot anyone I know. There are several shares of this blog from some of my friends stating that they spotted a friend or two (and for the unlucky ones, themselves too) in that blog.
I will have you know that I DO NOT condone such behaviour, nor do I agree that what this guy did is okay or is in any way ‘just having fun’.
Before I put in my two cents, I suggest you visit that site and look at a page or two of the people he’s posted there. In case you missed the link, click here.
Before you read any further, a disclaimer:
PLEASE, IF YOU CHOSE TO READ FURTHER, MAKE SURE THAT YOU KEEP AN OPEN MIND. I AM NOT IMPLYING THAT WHAT I SAY IS CORRECT, NOR AM I IN ANY WAY TAKING SIDES. I AM MERELY STATING MY BRUTALLY HONEST CONSTRUCTIVE OPINION, AND A FAIR WARNING THAT IT MAY GET A LITTLE TOO HARSH FOR SOME OF YOU, ESPECIALLY IF YOU WERE ONE OF THE GIRLS IN THAT BLOG.
IF YOU THINK YOU CAN TAKE IT WITH A PINCH OF SALT, THEN OKAY. IF NOT, I SUGGEST YOU CLICK THAT LITTLE ‘X’ ON THE TOP RIGHT OF YOUR BROWSER TAB. RIGHT NOW.
Now, tell me what you see in that blog.
Well, of course I know that there’s pictures of girls in there, but tell me, what do MOST of the pictures have in common?
Yes, MOST. Not ALL. In case some of you overly-sensitive people didn’t get that.
I’ll tell you what I see they have in common.
About 98% of the pictures involve girls pouting, sticking out their tongue, or looking somewhat ‘seductively’ at the camera. Trying to act ‘cute’ or ‘sexy’. That very sentence sends goosebumps up my arms, and it’s not in horror; more like in an annoyed sense.
Now before you go screaming SEXIST on me, have this food for thought:
Yes, girls should be able to dress however they want.
Yes, men should keep their ding-dong-ling-longs in their pants and not blame women.
Yes, girls/women/ladies shouldn’t cover up just because men can’t control their damn hormones.
Yes, I FULLY agree.
BUT, you gotta admit that most of the girls (again, I bold the word ‘MOST’,) had it coming.
I mean COME ON.
If you’re old enough to attempt those ‘sultry’ poses, you should be old enough to realise the consequences of posting them online, readily available for the whole world to see. Every Tom, Dick & Harry (or in this case, the 3Ps: Pedos, Perverts, and Plain Horny Men) will have complete access to your pictures (all they have to do is right click, and ‘save image as’).
If that little attention-whore in you still wants to post these pictures, CHANGE YOUR PRIVACY SETTINGS. It’s not that hard. Change it so that only the people you approve as ‘friends’ in your Facebook will be allowed to see it.
And let’s face it; the only reason why a girl would pout, pose ‘sexily’ or ‘cute’, or stick her tongue out is because they want attention. (Unless, of course, the sticking-out-tongue was meant in a ‘mehrong’ fashion; or in other words, ‘making a monkey-face’.)
They want comments from guys, especially, to say how sexy/cute they look. It makes the feel desired. As a girl/lady/woman myself, I admit that if that’s what you have to do to get a guy’s attention, first of all, you’re stooping waaayyy too low, sista. And secondly, if it was a stranger that posted said comment, I’d have thought of it as PLAIN CREEPY.
Soooo… in a way, I guess some of these girls got what they wanted; attention, and probably fame too, judging by how viral the blog has gone.
And I HAVE come across some blogs of the ‘victims’ or of their friends, crying outrage at what happened.
It is immoral and an invasion of privacy. And yes, I’m one of those people who have reported that blog on Blogger for abuse.
But again, come on. You gotta admit that some of them were asking for it, by the way they pose in pictures. I always say that you can look ‘sexy’ even with minimal exposure of skin. And a little reality check here: If a guy falls for you for the amount skin you show, I got some news for ya, honey – he ain’t attracted to YOU, he’s attracted to your BODY.
And then comes the scenario that almost ALWAYS comes after ‘unwanted attention’: Said girl will post statuses in ‘outrage’ over ‘that creepy dude’ that was ogling at that picture of her in an unbelievably low-cut top, or a little-to-the-imagination bikini.
Anyways. I could go on endlessly. I hadn’t mean to offend anyone; like I said in the beginning, just giving my two-cents worth.
And if you agree, holla at a sista! ;)
